Give your Marshall County senior a spot on Main Street. Downtown Proud: Class of 2027 hangs custom banners featuring the names, photos, and schools of graduating seniors throughout downtown Marshalltown each spring, a hometown hall of fame for the class about to walk the stage.
How it works
Each banner is personalized with your senior's photo, name, and high school. Banners are open to every graduating senior in Marshall County, not just Marshalltown, so families whose students open-enrolled into Marshalltown schools are welcome too. Banners follow a consistent design, so size, color, and lettering style aren't customizable, but the photo, name, and school are all yours.
Banners go up in April and come down at the end of June, hanging through graduation season. Once they come down, families are welcome to retrieve their banner to keep. Placement requests are welcome, though we can't guarantee a specific location.
Why it matters
Downtown Proud is first and foremost a fundraiser for Marshalltown Central Business District (MCBD), an independent nonprofit that has served downtown Marshalltown since 2002. Proceeds fund the events and programs that keep downtown thriving year-round: free community events like Haunt the Block, the Holiday Stroll, Live After 5, and Ridiculous Day; small business support and grant facilitation; and continued advocacy for investment downtown.
Cost
$189 per banner. This covers the cost of producing a banner built to withstand spring and early-summer weather, the cost of marketing and administering the program, and support for MCBD's broader fundraising.
Deadline
Orders are due by December 15, which gives us time to finalize and proof each banner before the holiday lull. Space is limited, so early orders are encouraged.
How to order
Order online through our secure checkout, or stop by our office at 34 W. Main Street to order in person. After ordering, email a photo of your senior labeled with their name to [email protected].

Since 2002, MCBD has helped support 165 local businesses, created welcoming public spaces, and brought thousands of people downtown through community events like Rev Up Downtown, Haunt the Block, and the Holiday Stroll.
Community support helps keep that momentum going. Donations help fuel business support programs, encourage entrepreneurial growth, improve downtown spaces, and make more events possible in the heart of Marshalltown.
Every dollar makes downtown stronger.
